We all are the Light, automatically. So we really don’t have to go too much further than that. We all have a Light within us – it is the Soul; it is that spark of God, of the Divine, that activates our consciousness.

      1. Silly me. I was looking for the interview on your site instead of Patty’s. It’s a little longer than you thought (48 minutes), but it was interesting to listen to your journey. I’m retired now, but I also worked in the school system. (thirty-one years in grades 2-6) I’m writing for middle grades since that is the age I know best. I enjoyed learning about your books. Good luck to you. Wanda.

      2. Hi.

Thanks for listening to Wanda’s interview.

I thought she did a wonderful job.

Since majority of podcasts are an hour long, I thought it went rather smoothly.

      3. Thank you for taking the time to listen. I’m sorry I said it was shorter than it turned out to be. I didn’t pay attention and I think some of the breaks added time to it.
Really? You were in education too?
I bet you’re thankful you’re retired now. It’s scary going back to work in this.
        Middle Graders are fun!
If you’d like to share your books here on my blog, let me know.
Thank you for your kind words and support.
Much success to you as well!

      4. Hi Wanda and all.

The breaks do add a bit of time into the mix.

Even still it is not too long and you did a great job.

  2. I hope I didn’t sound critical. I just thought you might like to know the interview was a little longer than you thought. I appreciated your honesty in your interview. I think a lot of writers experience self-doubt. First, it’s, am I good at his? Then, can I do it again? Maybe I’m just a one-hit-wonder. I’m not as far along as you, but I self-published with a vanity press the first go around. I didn’t know what I was doing at all in those days, but I felt that I owed something to a profession (teaching) that had been so good to me. I hadn’t planned on doing this, but I decided to write a book for future teachers. https://www.amazon.com/They-Call-Mom-Difference-Elementary/dp/1977200052 Selling a bunch of books or becoming famous is not important to me.

Now I’m going over my first children’s novel with my critique group. It’s for older kids (middle school). This time around, I’m going to either seek a publisher/agent for a year. If that doesn’t pan out, I think I’m going to self-publish doing much of the legwork on my own.

I listened to your interview because I’m interested in hearing other’s experiences in the writing world. Best of luck moving forward.

    2. Hi Pete,
No, you didn’t sound critical at all. I appreciate knowing that.
I think it’s important to be honest in our interviews. You don’t want to give some false perception to new authors that it’s all a piece of a cake and we always knew what we were doing.
I also used a vanity press because I didn’t know any better. But have since self-published. I love the control self-publishing gives you.
Good luck of getting an agent.
I’m writing my husband’s story (so different genre from my usual) and I, too, am hoping to land an agent.
Thank you again for listening to my interview.
I’m glad it was helpful to you.
      Best of luck to you!
